Janelle McCulloch and Linda Jane Holden will be in conversation just in time to inspire you for spring!

Janelle is the author of 25 garden and design books, including last year’s international bestseller Gardens of Style: Private Hideaways of the Design World. She will talk about the gardens she was privileged to visit and photograph around the world, including the gardens of Dior, David Hicks, Estee Lauder and other famous estates in the south of France, the Hamptons, Italy and England.

In conversation with Janelle will be US-based Linda Jane Holden, author of the stunning internationally successful biography The Gardens of Bunny Mellon, now in its fourth re-print. Rachel ‘Bunny’ Mellon and her husband Paul Mellon, one of the wealthiest couples in America, maintained homes in New York, Cape Cod, Nantucket, Antigua, and Upperville, Virginia, but Bunny was happier in the garden than on the social scene, and designed the gardens at all of their estates. She also designed gardens for some of her closest friends, including the Kennedys. She designed the Rose Garden and the East Garden at the White House and the gardens at both the Paris home and the château of couturier Hubert de Givenchy. All of these gardens are featured in The Gardens of Bunny Mellon, illustrated with Mellon’s own garden plans, sketches, and watercolours, as well as with archival photographs and specially commissioned prints of Oak Spring, the Mellon estate in Upperville. Author Linda Holden’s text is based on extensive interviews with Mellon before her death in 2014. Jane is full of engaging stories about the gardens Mrs Mellon designed for Givenchy, the White House, the Kennedys and the Mellon’s own estates.
