With full-page additional illustrated title-page and title-vignette printed in red/black ink. Heraldic bookplate in both vols. Parallel text in Greek and Latin in double-column. Previous owners name on front end-papers. NOTE: The influential Greek geographer Strabo's enormous Geography studied under both Aristotelian and Stoic teachers. He promulgated the theory that the torrid zone of the spherical globe was occupied by an ocean which divided his continent from another antipodal on in the Southern Hemisphere. the work represents the classical world's most significant contribution to the science of geography.
